The University of Maine's premier all-treble a cappella group
Renaissance was founded by former Maine senator Emily Cain and eight other members in 1999 after attending a cappella conference in Massachusetts. They intended to create a group of empowered women who inspired audiences of all ages and abilities to pursue their passion for music. We offer a diverse repertoire that includes chart-topping songs from the 1960s to 2010s, modern pop songs, classical arrangements, and everything in between! The repertoire arrangements we created by past and present members of Renaissance, The Maine Steiners, and several alumni of the University Singers. The members of UMaine Renaissance have something to offer for audiences of all ages.
